THE LATEST COCKPIT PICTURES |

December, 06 2005: Testing the backlighting.
Note the EICAS monitors, btw.. I'm having a big struggle getting the
latest pm versions work properly in fullscreen. Probably my fault.. Will have to
investigate further...

November, 14 2005: FDS Elite (Old Style) Glare
finished!

October, 26 2005: The Glare taking shape, next
up is soldering and further on hooking up the panels to the FDS G1 Interface.

September, 25 2005: At last I got the parts (and
time) to start working on the FDS Glare Panels. Will replace the CPFlight
MCP and EFIS. Original parts was received a year ago but I wanted to change for
the new type with switches with built in
light. A quick mail to Peter Cos and the plans were set. I soon received all
parts to convert to the new type. All assembly
work is finished. Next soldering and hooking up to the FDS-G1 Interface. The
CPFlight Plug&Play MCP/EFIS will be sold.

August, 21 2005: Interface for the Throttle Quadrant
done. All PCBs gathered on one wooden plate. All connections to the
TQ via Canon and DIL connectors to to ease removing the TQ for service. In the
picture from left to right: custom FSBUS
board with 8x Analog in and 3(4) x stepper controllers, Servo controller, LED
controller, custom Key controller and finally
the COM board. The terminal rail is for connections to the Stepper motors and
power to the FSBUS, backlight and servos.

August, 14 2005: Result of the backlight work. Had
to scratch off some paint on the backside of the panels to let the light
through.

August, 14 2005: Mounting Led Strips to give
backlight to the Symulatory.com TQ panels. Theese work same way as El.sheet
but with a form facor as you can see in the picture. They are supposed to
be amber but that is only when not lit...
When
powered
they are white (with a touch of amber).

August, 09 2005: Replaced the "old" TFT-TV with the
much better quality/design PSOne TFT

August, 05 2005: Received the TQ from
Symulatory.com! Not completely plug and play, but ready built mechanically and
electrical. Will have to hook up the FSBUS interface system for it, and finding
a way to make the Elevator trim start spinning
and throttle levers to start a life of their own!. The TQ is namely delivered
ready for autothrottle with built in Stepper motors
for throttle 1/2 and elevartor trim - nice work after summer holidays :)
Interface for FSBUS can be ordered separately and consist
of a custom Key card and a combined 8xAI + 3(4)x Stepper controller. I also
received a FSBUS COM3 card as my other FSBUS
is relatively crowded.. . Planning on making a separate (fs-)bus for the TQ
connected directly to the main FS computer.
As you can see it looks quite good, and the "feel" is good too, as far as I am
able to judge it. You get lots for your money,
compared to the other (few) manufacturers.Things like color and general looks, however,
are different from all the FDS panels.
This buggers me a bit...
FDS is planning a 737 TQ to be released in
the future. I just might sell this one and go for a
FDS one in the future, just to get
the same looks throughout the cockpit.
